Estepona is an ideal place in which to practise sports owing to its characteristically excellent climate and the facilities that form Estepona's sports profile.

One of the principal reasons why it is such a good area for sports is because of the variety it offers. Starting with traditional sports such as tennis, football, basketball,swimming ... and ending with water skiing, sailing, windsurfing ... without forgetting the Escuela de Arte Ecuestre (School of Equestrian Art) or the natural areas where we can go rambling or hiking.

The most outstanding sporting event in Estepona is the annual 24-hour sports day ('las 24 horas deportivas') for which the Sports Delegation organizes a packed agenda of multi-category competitions which take place over a continuous 24-hour period.
